I don t know if I would call this a young adult short story I would say it was better suited for a younger audience, though not quite as young as the main character, Molly, who is a six year old girl I d say around ten or so is aappropriate age demographic for this story The reason I say that is because the end is too creepy for a young child, but the overall plot in general is too basic and young for a pre teen or young adult. The story starts with a good build up in terms of plot Mo I don t know if I would call this a young adult short story I would say it was better suited for a younger audience, though not quite as young as the main character, Molly, who is a six year old girl I d say around ten or so is aappropriate age demographic for this story The reason I say that is because the end is too creepy for a young child, but the overall plot in general is too basic and young for a pre teen or young adult. The story starts with a good build up in terms of plot Most of the story is background information the reader needs to understand and events leading up to the climax, which is the horror part of this story That being said, the longer build up of regular plot makes the briefness and suddenness of the horror climax feel really rushed, and the ending didn t satisfy me at all It s an interesting ending with a good horror quality and an air of mystery, but there might be too much mystery with it There s a lot that goes unanswered and a lot that could have just been better developed. The writing is okay It s not the quality you d expect to see in an adult novel, but it shouldn t be because it is intended for a younger audience Personally it s hard for me to judge the quality of writing when it is simplified for children, but this story doesn t seem like it s too bad.I d recommend picking this up if you re a younger reader who likes to think about the supernatural and likes stories with a spooky twist It s a quick read and not very long, so it s easy to get through and you can take it all in at once
