25 stars Not my kind if book The way it was written was really hard to follow in the beginning Once I could finally keep up with that it got a little better but then the nature of the relationship between the three main characters was such that I didn't care for A lot of sexual content that was hard to skip over I didn't love the ending either but I think it was the nature of the tri relationship that bugs me the most

I was wondering if Brinn was ever going to change to human form She does eventually and forms a relationship with Prince Alain and Brinn The pov keeps changing which I don't mind I like dual pov but we have in this and it gets a bit confusing I also wasn't keen on the style of writing even though I know it's based in olden times basically the book didn't really work for me I have to admit I am hard to please with historical style books so maybe I'm being hard

I received this novel from NetGalley in exchange for an honest reviewI’ve always had a weakness for over the top ridiculous fiction and Heartsong was no exception As soon as I realized it featured an Arthurian paranormal threesome I was hookedDespite the absurd premise–a shapeshifting faerie from the Wild Hunt think the uesting Beast stumbles upon two future knights of the Round Table and sexytimes ensue–I was surprised by the uality of the novel’s writing and worldbuilding love fantasy especially faeries and I found the idea of a pack of fey hunting dogs intriguingThe novel takes place just as Arthur is staking a claim to Britain so every appearance of a character from the mythology felt like an Easter Egg From the two heroes brothers Sir Pellinore and Sir Alain to Merlin and the Lady of the Lake Heartsong is chock full of major players I could tell that this book was the beginning of a series and I’m curious what the following ones will be about I’m definitely sensing a Morgan Le Fey book in the worksSince the book switches between Brinn’s the faerie Alain’s and Pel’s POV it’s sometimes hard to follow who is narrating The two brothers are especially difficult to tell apart until they mention the other I also wish the fantasy aspect had been explored a bit since the plot lacks any major conflict or villainHowever the chemistry between the three main characters is palpable from the very beginning well once Brinn shifts from dog to human anyway The book is marketed as a threesome but really it’s of a “woman has sex with two dudes at once” The two brothers are very careful to give off a “no homoincest” vibe but they’re both in love with Brinn so they’re inclined to share The novel is short but sweet with plenty of steamy love scenesI never thought I’d end up enjoying an Arthurian paranormal romance featuring a threesome but Heartsong proved me wrong This only confirms my theory that I can enjoy any premise as long as it’s well executedCheck out this review and on my book blog here

I received a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest reviewThis book for me was an exciting read full of twists and turns but the ending left me a little bereft I enjoyed the old world feel of the speech although it took some getting used to and the characters were well developed I can see were some readers could get lost in the text because of the way it is written I typically like fantasy books and taking on the King Arthur story was entertaining Even though we saw it coming I don't like when the view spoilerMFM turns into a MF It always breaks my heart when someone is separated hide spoiler

I may try to delve into it again at some point but the author relies too much on other authors' grand tales and does little to entice me to read her own
