Very interesting historical book for Nova Scotia but disappointed the author did not identify the specific address and current status for each house Also would love an index of houses names plus a secondary one by community.

Who lived there and what s the story behind the name To be honest I never gave much thought as to how a house got its name, but was definitely intrigued when I saw this book This was a very interesting read I loved the pictures of the gorgeous old homes It s also fascinating to see how much was brought over from across the pond This may be the book you didn t know you needed to read Thank you to Netgalley and Nimbus Publishing for a chance to read this.

A nice look at the different houses and history of Nova Scotia A good look at places that are of interest Some are a brief introduction to the building, others have a longer explanation of the building and the people who lived within them IF looking for a start of Canadian or maritime history this could be a nice start.
