If you are interested in the beginnings of integration in Balti in the 30s 40s and 50s this is an important book It's too simple to conceive of the Civil Rights Movement as something that mainly took place in the 60s and then ended although perhaps not by readers who would take the time to look into a work like this one I for one as a Balti resident was interested in the particulars of how say the municipal golf courses in the city of Balti came to be desegregated
