This is a wonderful tool in teaching children about the Holy Ghost. I think adults would benefit as well. It answers the questions, Why should I want the Holy Ghost to be with me? and How does the Holy Ghost help me to feel? There are scriptural references throughout.

Examples: The Holy Ghost comforts me when I am sad, just as my family does when I have had a hard day.
    Alma 17:10; John 14:27

I feel good inside when I share my testimony or hear an inspired talk at church. Sometimes I even feel like crying. The Holy Ghost gives me these sweet, tender feelings so that I will know the gospel is true and that Jesus is the Christ. 2 Nephi 33:1; Acts 10:44

My 5 yr old had some good questions after General Conference this weekend. I think this book does a good job explaining the Holy Ghost. Love the scripture references and the colorful illustrations.

Would be great for scripture study or family home evening.

I love it when I find something that can help me multi-task. And yesterday I found a book that does just that. How Does the Holy Ghost Make Me Feel? (Carnesecca, Deseret Book 2010) is a cute children's book with a very practical side. In a simple manner it tells of the many different ways the Holy Ghost can make us feel, and then also provides scriptural references on each page.

Last night Sweetie Peach read the book (with a little help from me on a few different words) and really enjoyed it. She particularly liked the illustrations. I loved that she was learning eternal concepts while enjoying herself.

I also love the scriptural references because (you know me...) next month I will use the book for our morning scripture devotional and we will work through each different reference in the book. There are more than enough for the month, so it will be an easy-peasy task!

What first attracted me to the book was the beautiful book. The fall leaves and just the overall happiness of it caught my attention. It is full of color and there is lots to learn. It is important understand the feelings that one can receive the Holy Ghost. When we are doing what it right we can be filled with happiness and thanksgiving. This book would be great to read to younger children. I think that they would really enjoy it.

As the title indicates, this wasn't a captivating story--more like a Sunday school lesson and my kids lost interest half way through the first time we read it and 3/4 of the way through the second time. That being said, when my parents left after Easter, I told Tommy that I was sad to see them go and he said, But you have the Spirit to comfort you, which was straight from this book!!

  5. Tiffany says:

This book is a great teaching tool on explaining about the importance of the Holy Ghost, how we receive the Holy Ghost, what the Holy Ghost feels like and all the information that is important to know regarding the Holy Ghost.

  6. Mandi Murphy says:

Really good idea. My only complaint is that it is a little difficult for small children to understand some of the language. Very grateful that the author decided to write this book. It's a great treasure to have in my home.

  7. Carol says:

No bias here of course... ; ) I do think this is an awesome book and is both a great teaching tool and gift for kids approaching baptism!

  9. Shellie says:

This is an adorable book for Mormon families. A gal read it in Relief Society a few weeks ago, as part of the lesson. If you are LDS this a book to look into owning.

  10. Heather says:

each page very simply tells young children the way the holy ghost can make them feel, and at the bottom of each page is a scripture reference for older children. worth owning.
