  1. Jedi JC Daquis says:

This is a great collection of illustrations from various artists. Though they do not tread away from Transmetropolitan's art style, each illustration is clearly the artist's own creative of the City and Spider Jerusalem. Steve Dillon's page has a woman who looks like Tulip, Glen Fabry's work was good as well as Chiang and Connor's.

Thr columns, although they are fun to read, are forgettable. These articles span from Spider's childhood home to multiple personality disorder-inducing drugs to his purpose as a journalist. Nothing spectacular though it doesn't bore.

  2. Jeraviz says:

A glorious special window into the world of Spider Jerusalem. Had I lived in this dystopian paradise of a city I can assert with confidence that I would read Spider's columns... and I'm sure he'd hate me for it.
This issue is doubly special because it does that thing that Tom King's Batman #50 does. It's practically a picture book with inserts of Spider's columns slapped to the side. Each page is drawn by a different artist and it makes for an effortlessly interesting experience. (Think of it as reading the newspaper in a world far, far into the future).
My favorite columns centered on Spider's youth at the docks, his views of Yelena Rossini, his opinion on this drug the new generation is using that plants you in a place between time and space (it sounds awful); teaching under educated (but not dumb) children things, his visit to the Transient funeral and his view on how writers don't really do anything... they just give other people the tools to do things.

Artwork wise I was really struck by the image of Spider at the Mistletoe Parade thing. (I'm being really lazy, forgive me, but I forgot the artists name). Same for the final panel where he admits he's been in the city for 2 years. The colors have a lot of depth and as I have said before and will say again, the coloring in these books is just as much a reason to read it as are the superb writings of Warren Ellis and the masterful pencil strokes by Darick Robertson.

This felt like a treat to hold me in between the continuing arcs.

  5. Vikas says:

Beautiful scenes recreated by different illustrators and then articles by Spider what not to love in this companion work to TransMet. This was nice and it was wonderful to read Spider's column.

I have always loved comics, and I hope that I will always love them. Even though I grew up reading local Indian comics like Raj Comics or Diamond Comics or even Manoj Comics, now's the time to catch up on the international and classic comics and Graphic novels. I am on my quest to read as many comics as I can. I Love comics to bit, may comics never leave my side. I loved reading this and love reading more, you should also read what you love and then just Keep on Reading.

  6. Steven says:

OK but this volume of pretty pictures and Spider Jerusalem articles was less interesting than the Transmetropolitan series.

  7. René says:

Odio este lugar, sabéis, porque no puedo olvidarme de él. Pero si vais diciendo por ahí que he dicho esto, lo negaré todo.
