Sub par ending to one of the stories Otherwise, pretty good.

  2. Dawn Tagala says:

shows the whole story behind Cupid and Psyche s love affairs but not entirely in full detail the Golden Ass part was also unnecessary It would have worked if they showed the relation of the story to the story of Cupid and Psyche.

the story of love and the human soul, preserved by divine willi believe that this story is farancient than apuleius probable retelling eros cupid and psyche are also mentioned in the nag hammadi library, in on the origin of the world the first rose is said to have been borne of psyche s blood upon losing her virginity to her eros this pair appear in greek art dating back to the 4th century bc, attesting to the ancient stream of thought this story originates from what resonates the story of love and the human soul, preserved by divine willi believe that this story is farancient than apuleius probable retelling eros cupid and psyche are also mentioned in the nag hammadi library, in on the origin of the world the first rose is said to have been borne of psyche s blood upon losing her virginity to her eros this pair appear in greek art dating back to the 4th century bc, attesting to the ancient stream of thought this story originates from what resonates so deeply with me, beyond even the happy ending and the insane tasks that aphrodite venus sets forth for poor, sweet little psyche, is her view towards her lauded beauty that it hasn t brought her any good thus far just suffering admiration from men is one thing but a loving husband is another and i can t help but ponder how venus anger towards psyche s beauty that she didn t even benefit from her real beef was with the people abandoning her altars and getting it twisted could be something like a reflection of women being jealous of other women s looks today i am kinda like the 15th 16th century physician and occultist paracelsus in that i view the universe as one living, breathing, coherent organism with a pervading, universal life giving spirit uniting all god source, aeons, humanity and everything in between exist in this and with this framework, it s not a jump to see venus as possibly representing all women and or femininity in general when staring in the face of beauty attractive women get hated on the most by other women, and as a professional model i ve dealt with this notion a great deal i truly believe that evil eyes negative energy sent are the downfall behind most famous beautiful women britney spears has a lot going on with how she s been in showbiz as a child disney pedophile magick for ya , but i believe the later evil eyes from the public exacerbated her mental illness and often cite her as an example when explaining these things so, psyche is sitting with all this praise and admiration which just serves as something for femininity HERSELF gets mad at why maybe i am just honing in on this because i sit from home and post my instagram pictures, get admiration from men, jealousy from other women and then at the end of the day take my nightly repose as i have always taken it lying alone psyche s speech to her crying parents is the most real passage in the entire story, and i would love to see what aphrodite venus response would be to her not even wanting to claim being a second venus she herself deemed it blasphemous, so why be mad at her can do a whole thing on that with the wounded femininebut i ll stop blabbing and pondering that piece psyche s curiosity and eros kindness and love intermingle into something so beautiful and pure they say eros gave rose quartz to humans to help them with love, and how love fell in love with the human soul is so beautiful to me psyche is the star in eros universe.funny how psyche s human curiosity is her undoing not once, but twice that notion is really, really common in myths, lol human curiosity, but eros love saves all love is king so much can be written about this tale it s one that has stayed so present for a reason so much information has been lost from the ancient world, but the fact that this story stayed intact in this form is meaningful one of my favorites is in keats ode to psyche, where he refers to her as o latest born and loveliest vision far of all olympus faded hierarchy which i think is very fitting for sweet little psyche there s something so pure about her that just isn t there in other characters of greek myth.anyways, the human soul finding love is so beautiful and profound who knew also cool how their kid is hedone voluptas pleasure the human soul gets impregnated with pleasure by love, lol definitely true, even to this day.forever my favorite greek myth forever, forever, forever until the end of time

A beautiful, classic tale of love conquers all which is sure to bring a smile to any hardened soul Both lovers make extreme sacrifices to both protect and be with one another whilst the cruel goddess Venus or Aphrodite continues to tear them apart and attempt to put an end to her life It s a tale of hubris and sacrifice and is very clearly one of the kosher seeds for original, beloved fairy tales like Cinderella, or The Little Glass Slipper, Beauty and the Beast and Rumpelstiltskin The book A beautiful, classic tale of love conquers all which is sure to bring a smile to any hardened soul Both lovers make extreme sacrifices to both protect and be with one another whilst the cruel goddess Venus or Aphrodite continues to tear them apart and attempt to put an end to her life It s a tale of hubris and sacrifice and is very clearly one of the kosher seeds for original, beloved fairy tales like Cinderella, or The Little Glass Slipper, Beauty and the Beast and Rumpelstiltskin The book loses a star, simply from the style of translation my copy has It kept its original dialogue in a traditional prose however changed all descriptions and storytelling into a modern passage It was just too jarring to ignore so I would not recommend it On the other side of the coin however, it was incredibly easy to understand, and if you re a first time reader to the genre, then it may be a go too I ll leave it here regardless I eventually come across it again in a different translation, or in its original book this will most likely change

I read and loved Sun and Moon, Ice and Snow by Jessica Day George years ago, thinking it was simply based off the Norwegian folktale East of the Sun, West of the Moon But no Even that was based off of Cupid and Psyche I m learning recently that there are few classic Western stories that don t have some element from Greek or Roman literature And I m okay with that, because it s awesome.
